Rooidak Self Catering Terms and Conditions

Disclaimer Notice / Indemnity

Guests attend Rooidak Self Catering at their own risk. Rooidak Self Catering, the Proprietor, its agents, and/or its employees (“the Proprietor”) shall not be liable for, and the guests hereby waive and abandon any claims of whatever nature, including but not limited to those for theft, injury, loss, or damage of any kind, against the Proprietor, whether arising from the Proprietor’s default, negligence, or otherwise.

Guests, in addition to the aforementioned, hereby indemnify the Proprietor against any claims that may arise from any nature, whether arising from the Proprietor’s default, negligence, or otherwise.

Any damage suffered by way of personal injuries of any nature and severity sustained while at Rooidak Self Catering or while using any facilities, regardless of whether such injuries were caused by or resulted from gross negligence or a wrongful act of the owner and/or management and/or employees, is hereby excluded. The owner and/or management and/or employees of Rooidak Self Catering are hereby expressly indemnified.

The use of all equipment and facilities is at your own risk. The owner and/or management of Rooidak Self Catering, and/or anyone employed by the aforementioned persons and/or entities are hereby absolved of all and any responsibility relating to any injury, damage, illness, or death while at Rooidak Self Catering and while on the premises and/or using any of the facilities.

The said owner and/or management and/or employees are hereby indemnified against any loss or damage to property and possessions, including but not limited to data loss of a person while a guest at Rooidak Self Catering. Regardless of the cause of such loss or damage, including but not limited to gross negligence or any wrongful act of the aforementioned owner and/or management and/or employees.

House Rules

Rooidak Self Catering or the owners do not accept any liability for loss of or damage to any valuables or property belonging to guests or their visitors. This includes, but is not limited to, photographic equipment, laptops and data contained therein, or other electronic devices, jewelry, cash, and vehicles. Please note that the cottage is equipped with secure storage facilities; it is expected that guests utilize these facilities. If you are unsure, please ask a member of our staff.

Insurance

It is the sole responsibility of all guests to ensure the safety and security of themselves and their belongings, as well as to take out adequate insurance coverage on all valuable items and have the appropriate travel/business insurance to cover any circumstances that may prevent them from fulfilling these obligations. This should be done prior to arrival at Rooidak Self Catering.

Use of Facilities

Guests and their visitors using the outdoor braai area and surrounding facilities are utilizing such amenities entirely at their own risk. Guests acknowledge that Rooidak Self Catering does not provide any life-saving facilities and indemnify the owners and staff against any claims of injury, bodily harm, death, or loss of property which could arise from the use of these facilities.

Loss or Damage to Rooidak Self Catering

Should Rooidak Self Catering suffer any loss or damage as a result of an act or omission by a guest or visitor of a guest, the guest will remain liable for full reimbursement of such loss or damage incurred and will be billed accordingly.

Right of Admission Reserved

Rooidak Self Catering reserves the full right of admission at all times and accepts no liability for any loss or damage that may result from the legal and reasonable exercising of such rights. Guests wishing to bring other guests not registered to stay at the establishment must consult our website for booking procedures.

Smoking

For the comfort of our guests, Rooidak Self Catering is a strictly non-smoking accommodation establishment, except for designated outdoor areas. In the event that smoking is detected, fines equivalent to those imposed by South African legislation will be applied.

Minors

Minors are the sole responsibility of the parents, guardians, or the person or persons in whose care they are while at Rooidak Self Catering or while using its facilities.

• No Wi-Fi service is provided.
• Guests are encouraged to enjoy activities such as hiking, biking, and mountain climbing during their stay.
